Our exchange students are ready to roll up their sleeves (while putting on their gloves and woolly hat) and study abroad again in the UK and Ireland after returning from their Christmas holiday break.
Many of our HSI students couldn’t wait to return to the lives they had adopted when they first travelled to the UK and Ireland. The students had worked hard on integrating in to the local education system at the beginning of the school term and had made a lot of friends in the process. Learning to form these friendships outside of their comfort zones and having such broadening experiences while studying abroad for the year helps the students develop and adopt lifelong skills.
We’re glad to see all of our students are excited to return, and our Student Advisors are looking forward to seeing how they progress in 2017 while assisting them whenever it’s required. One particularly creative student, Charlotte Unselt, who is on this year’s High Schools International programme, has found Ireland to be an inspirational place to live to develop her artistic eye. Charlotte has a keen eye and a knack for capturing the subtle detail within natural surroundings that would go amiss to the casual observer. Her Instagram pages are populated with so many exceptional shots of mountains, landscapes and coastal walks, she started a brand new profile page during the holidays. Now that she’s back in Ireland, we can’t wait to see her continue to develop her photography, artistic and digital skills as she captures the moments of being an exchange student in Ireland in 2017.
