Setting the Standards for Child Safety in Ireland

Here at High Schools International we are proud to be leading the way in child welfare in Ireland.  As one of the founding members of the Association of Guardianship Providers Ireland (AGPI) we are setting the benchmark for organisations seeking accreditation from this new nationwide scheme.

INSPECTED

 

All AGPI members have undergone a rigourous application and inspection process

LEGAL

AGPI members are legally established in Ireland as limited companies

INSURED

AGPI members have adequate Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance

STAFFED

AGPI members employ a dedicated team to look after your international students with a staff/student ratio of at least 1:30

VETTED

All staff in AGPI member organisations have been Garda (police) vetted

TRAINED

 

All staff at AGPI member organisations have undergone Child Safeguard Training, with at least one staff member who has undergone Designated Liaison Person (DPL) training.

SAFETY

AGPI members only place students in host families who have been inspected and meet AGPI criteria and have undergone Garda (police) vetting (every 3 years)

24/7

 

AGPI members provide a 24/7 emergency telephone service

REAL CONTACT

Staff at AGPI member organisations meet each student on a one-to-one basis, at least once per month to monitor progress and deal with any issues the student may have.

CHILD

PROTECTION

AGPI members have a clearly defined and implemented Child Protection Policy and Student Care Plan for each student in their care

SYSTEMS

AGPI members have a clearly defined system in place for student welfare, pastoral care, academic progress, and personal safety


COMMUNICATION

 

AGPI members provide a clear monthly report on student progress to the parents/agent abroad.
