World-class guardianship

Why is guardianship so essential?

Professional guardianship should be about more than just a 'status'.  It should be a commitment to, and responsibility for, the care and wellbeing of a student for the duration of their studies.  We think we're pretty good at it, so let us tell you why.

Professional guardianship of a young person, like any service, can come in various degrees of quality.  At High Schools International we take great pride in offering all of our students one of the most comprehensive and supportive levels of guardianship available.

Living arrangements

This is a crucial part of any study abroad programme, and it can make or break a student's whole experience.  We will help you to decide whether boarding or host family accommodation is right for you.  If you choose homestay, we will make sure we match you up with a local family who suits your needs.

Even our boarding students will need to stay with one of our host families on occasion.  Most boarding schools will close at mid-term breaks and on occasional weekends, so we make sure our students have a friendly and welcoming home to stay in during those times.

This is all included in our programme so you won't be getting extra, unexpected costs like you do with most other guardianship services.

Assistance of our student advisor

Our team of Student Advisors assist our students with a whole host of different things, from helping them learn their route to school to opening a bank account if they need to. Each of our students is allocated a Student Advisor who they will see every 4 - 6 weeks for the duration of their programme.  Our Student Advisors will produce written progress reports after each meets so the parents of our students have an independent and professional opinion of the progress of their son or daughter's studies.

On rare occasions a student will require a higher level of support from our Student Advisors, for example, if they are taken ill or if they are having any issues at school or at home.  Our Student Advisors are always willing and able to visit our students more frequently if required.

With most other guardianship services this extra support will result in additional bills for the parents, but not with High Schools International.  We are committed to making sure our students are happy, safe and well whilst under our care, and we don't believe this should cost extra!!

Emergency 24/7 Telephone contact

This is a service we provide that we hope that you will never need, but if you do you will be very glad of it!  All of our students are given our 24/7 emergency telephone number, so they know that if they find themselves needing to speak to someone at High Schools International immediately, they can do.  No matter what time of day or what day of the week.

Airport Transfers

We know that the parents of our students like to have little or no additional costs once their son or daughter has started their study abroad programme.  We also know that all of our students will use a minimum of two airport transfers, when they arrive and when they leave the programme, which means we even include these taxi transfers in our guardianship programme!
